(Anonymous) 2018-03-31 01:20 am (UTC)(link)You're allowing people to come, look at the game just ONCE, then ignore everything for a whole month. Or even more, since you're super easy on hiatus abusers. I could easily ignore the game for three months with the only consequence being having to thread a bit more. If someone thinks two threads of just five comments is too much, then they have no place in a game, no matter how small and relaxed it is (especially one that requires invites and has cast caps).

Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your concern - however, we are not considering changing AC for this game for several reasons, most of which boil down to continuing to maintain a relaxed game atmosphere, and adhering to the rules we do have in place. We do want to reassure you that we track hiatuses, posts, exactly how people make AC, and etc very carefully and that we handle issues out of the public eye, as we believe should be the case. We promise you that we do what we can, always
If you have complaints about particular characters, you can always come to us about those. We will thoroughly look into any concern brought to us.

Just because it is a player plot it doesn't mean it doesn't need moderation. You say "it's a player thing so it's not on the mod plurk" which I agree with and that's fair! But there has been just a general lack of organization with this. I thought a player plot would've been presented to you guys with some kind of breakdown of the plot? Because we never got that. The first ooc post that we got was vague as heck, and you had to jump in to make corrections (shouldn't that have been talked beforehand?) and to tell us that was just a general idea gathering thing and not a proper presentation of plot ooc post.
Which, by the way, we never got. In the plurk you said "we did have an ooc plot" but you guys yourself said that wasn't it, and besides the post's over a month old. People may have forgotten about it (we didn't even get proper dates it just showed up one day), we've gotten new people since then, and like I said, a proper breakdown of what's going on never was posted. Just an IC post out of nowhere that doesn't even link to the old plotting post.
Plurk is not the place to talk this shit out, I'll give you that much, but the way you told Teef that pretty much things are ok was a bit off-putting. This isn't how a player plot should be handled, guys, especially one that has big stuff going on and it's more than just "my idiot stole all your clothes" to name something random. A big plot needs a proper ooc post with the details and a place where people can ask questions, and if the player didn't post that then the mods should remind them to do so.
eta: rereading the old post I see "We would of course address absolute specifics in an information post once it is much closer to the time of the event, working with Frames along the way. As of right now, this post was meant to survey interest, help with excitement, and think on ideas. This was not a "This Is The Plot" plot post. We have not worked out any hard and fast details, we we haven't received any sort of official write-up for end-all-be-all scheduling and clearance." You shouldn't allow to post about a plot this big when a plot doesn't have breakdown, scheduling and clearance. This should be clear.

> The general lack of organization
We admit, yes, there is a huge lack of organization with this, and we have learned our lesson on our end of things. We were blindsided as well - there was no communication with us, even though we thought we had made it very clear that they were to continue talking with us about it. Apparently, we were not as clear as we should have been, and we plan to correct that in the future.
> The post over a month old
We are also unhappy with how this was handled. We were very much under the impression that we would work together to craft an informational post, but in the end, we were not spoken to, and no post was made at all. That is unacceptable, and we are aware of that.
> Teeff's plurk
We did talk with Teeff after the plurk was deleted, and hashed everything out with her. We have a slew of feedback and information that we are absolutely taking to heart, we promise. We sincerely apologize that things in her plurk were handled abruptly and not well - we were all in damage control mode, which was not the way to go about it. We will be much more careful in the future.
> The mods reminding them to make an info post
You're completely right. In the future, we will. This entire player plot has been an exercise in frustration all around, and we will do everything we can to make sure this never happens again.
We have been discussing this all day, and we want to let you know that after this incident, we know very well that we have A LOT to improve - and we will, immediately. We are drafting a post that will detail exactly how we expect large player plots to be handled, and we will expect those instructions to be followed in their entirety.
If you have anything else you wish to bring up with us, please don't hesitate to do so. Again, we really, sincerely appreciate you speaking to us about this. We will make improvements, and we will be better.

(Anonymous) 2019-04-14 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)I want this game to go out with a bang. To discovers the secrets of the plot and have a satisfying ending and all that jazz. So, having experienced endgames in other games, I gotta say: July? Maybe even August? Yeah, dunno if we can make it that long. Games tend to die in activity the moment endgame is announced. People aren't going to care about a not plot-related planet (especially when we still have another week of drifting before that). It would be a pity to let all your hard work fall prey to endgame blues. So... yeah. Just wanted to leave this message to tell you to maybe reconsider your dates, or maybe add a few clues in the next planet? Something to kick the characters in certain direction? So DF can have the ending it deserves. Thank you.

To address your question: don't be afraid! Without giving too much away, we want to reassure you we've made our July endgame decision based on a lot of factors, and it wasn't just arbitrarily picked. To give you a non-spoilery idea:
- This upcoming system has already been in the works, and we think people will enjoy it. We'll likely toss in a hint or two to metaplot/endgame there, but for the most part, it is where we want it.
- The following drift, and the system after that, will be directly geared toward endgame/metaplot and what players can do to prepare for that.
- After that, endgame begins.
Additionally, there is a large portion of our playerbase that prefers systems with no metaplot attachments at all! We know we can't make everyone in the game happy every single time, but we're doing our best regardless.
Also, we're being flexible on dates. If things get moved forward, we will be completely open and pro-communication about all of it. Things will not get pushed back, however: July is our goal, August is... essentially a worst-case scenario, if real life explodes or something catches on fire, or something along those lines.
All that said, we do appreciate your feedback, and we'll keep it in mind as we make all of our upcoming decisions throughout the rest of the game. Hopefully all this will alleviate any fears or hesitations you have, but if not, reach out to us again and we'll be happy to keep talking about it. We promise, we want Drift Fleet to go out with a satisfying ending just as much as you do. We'll do everything we can to make that happen.
Thank you for everything. ♥!
